After falling in love with governess Henriette Deluzy-Desportes (Bette Davis), the Duc de Praslin (Charles Boyer) murders his wife. More tragedy follows with the suicide of the Duc; but the governess still finds happiness in this classic tale set in Paris in the mid-1800s. Academy Award nominations included Best Picture and Supporting Actress (Barbara O'Neil). 1 User Review
