Farm girl Fern Arable (Pamelyn Ferdin) talks her father into saving the life of a baby pig that she names Wilbur (voice of Henry Gibson). When Wilber gets big, he is transferred to a relative's farm and becomes very lonely. That's when the spider Charlotte (voice of Debbie Reynolds) comes into the picture. She spins Wilber's praises in her web for all to see and gives Wilbur the support he needs so that he will not be sent to the slaughterhouse. Lots of other little animals fill the screen in this delightful animated film adaptation of the popular children's book by E.B. White.
