The only other bachelor in the group, Eddie (Jack Warden), has planned the bash that includes hitting bars and a porn theater. During the course of the evening, the married men—Walter (E.G. Marshall) and Charlie (Don Murray)—reveal their own marital difficulties, and Charlie must decide whether or not to cheat on his wife with a beatnik (Carolyn Jones) who he meets at a Greenwich Village party. By the end of the bachelor party, the guest-of-honor as well as the party givers are affected by their night of revelry. Carolyn Jones was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
