This is a very good film about three civil rights workers who were killed in Mississippi during the height of racial problems of the 1960s. FBI agents Ward (Willem Dafoe) and Anderson (Gene Hackman), with different backgrounds, arrive to investigate. They overcome their differences and work together, and information from the town sheriff's wife (Frances McDormand) helps in solving the case. The film won an Oscar for Best Cinematography and was nominated for six others, including Best Picture, Actor (Hackman), Supporting Actress (Frances McDormand) and Director.
