He is also a mean father and husband. Then one son, Ben (Edmond O'Brien), finds out that Marcus was responsible for the death of Confederate troops and threatens to blow the whistle. This film begins 20 years before the Lillian Hellman book and movie, "The Little Foxes," which carried on the story of the Hubbard family.
