Woody Allen's Academy Award-winning film is centered on the problems of a stand-up comedian's (Allen) love life with an endearingly genuine woman, Annie Hall (Diane Keaton). While the film explores highs and lows in their relationship, the viewer is constantly reminded of the gentle humor of life. From the master of the "I wish I'd said that" movies, Woody Allen: "I don't want to live in a city where the only cultural advantage is that you can make a right turn on a red light." In addition to Best Picture, Oscars also went to Woody Allen for his directing and to Diane Keaton for Best Actress. Allen was nominated for Best Actor.
