Alma (Patricia Neal) watches as Hud tries to coerce his father and tries to ward him off when Hud drunkenly propositions her. Neal won the Best Actress Oscar, and Douglas won for Best Supporting Actor. The film also won for Cinematography and received for other nominations, including Best Actor and Director.
