It contains all the glitter of the Big Top presented through a number of stories interwoven into the circus world. In one of them, James Stewart plays a man who finds safety while on the lam by disguising himself in clown make-up. Other tales involve Charlton Heston and Betty Hutton, whose egos must be overcome to attain love. Look for Bing Crosby and Bob Hope as spectators in the grandstand. The film was also won an Academy Award for Best Writing and was nominated for three others, including Best Director.
