Malone (Hal Holbrook)—hear the news from local newscaster Stevie Wayne (Adrienne Barbeau) and piece together clues that reveal the ghosts have arrived because of what the city fathers did to them 100 years ago when they murdered a group of lepers and sent their bodies adrift in the ocean. Now, the ghosts have arrived in the middle of a dense fog to seek revenge.
