Eight years later Nestor is released and also flees to Miami where he finds that Isabel is romantically attached to Sam (Vincent D'Onofrio), a fisherman who had rescued her at sea. A love triangle ensues as we follow the dangerous lifestyles faced by the Cuban-Americans.
