The story is about King Louis XIV (Beau Bridges) and his twin brother Philippe (Beau Bridges) who were separated at birth. Philippe was raised by D'Artagnan (Cornel Wilde) and the Three Musketeers: Aramis (Lloyd Bridges), Porthos (Alan Hale Jr.), and Althos (Jose Ferrer).
