Genre: Drama Director: George Schaefer   Cast: Steve McQueen, Charles Durning, Bibi Andersson, Eric Christmas, Richard Dysart, Michael Higgins, Richard Bradford, Ham Larsen   Adapted from the Ibsen play, this screenplay by Arthur Miller is about Doctor Thomas Stockmann (Steve McQueen) who tries to prevent the opening of a new health spa in his town because he has found that the hot springs are polluted.    1 User Review User Review Memorable and Timely Anonymous 09/20/2007    An outstanding performance by McQueen in this classic story in which one person has the courage to stand against evil regardless of others who choose to cower and criticize. Ibsen and McQueen clearly demonstrate once again that one person can change the world while also demonstrating the real danger of sometimes having that courage of conviction. I saw this sadly-unrecognized film in the late 1970s and it has "haunted" me ever since. I dearly wish it were available on DVD to view over and over and over.
