Captain Cassidy (Cary Grant) commands a United States submarine during World War II. His assignment is to sail into Tokyo Bay to gather information about weather conditions in preparation for a bombing of Tokyo. The plan involves putting ashore meteorologist Raymond (John Ridgely) who will obtain the needed data. The submarine leaves San Francisco on Christmas Eve, and the voyage will prove harrowing as the crew sets out to fulfill its mission. This film was released during World War II, and, while propaganda is obvious, it is still an exciting story.
