Cole learns that his uncle is responsible for the robbery because, as the operator of a freight line, he is trying to drive the stagecoach line out of business. Cole leaves John and becomes a junior partner in the stagecoach line where he works for Ted Wallace (Russell Hayden). This displeases John, and a war breaks out leading to a final showdown when John and his henchman Juke Murkil (Lon Chaney Jr.) set a trap to catch Cole and Ted.
