When her father dies, Morgan inherits her father's ship and sets out—as the ship's captain—to find pieces of a missing treasure map and to avenge her father's murder. Because the map is printed in Latin, Morgan joins forces with a well-educated slave, William Shaw (Matthew Modine), who can interpret the map. It isn't long before Morgan discovers that her nasty uncle, Dawg Brown (Frank Langella), is also searching for pieces of the map, and a battle ensues with lots of sword-fighting action.
