Eleven-year old Mark Sway (Brad Renfro) learns the secret of a Mafia killing. When he goes to the federal prosecutor for help, he is directed to a lawyer, Regina "Reggie" Love (Susan Sarandon). She helps Mark and his family get into the witness protection program and away from the clutches of the Mafia. Sarandon was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.
