(Nicholas Gledhil) lives with his aunt and uncle, a result of his mother's death and a long-absent drunken father. His aunt's rich sister returns from a world trip, expresses an interest in P.S., and treats him royally. A court battle ensues when both sisters want custody, during which the boy's father shows up and, though loving the boy, decides he can't care for him. The film won several Australian Film Institute Awards, including Best Picture, Actress, and Supporting Actor.
