When he meets Palmer (Brooklyn Decker), Danny falls in love for the first time, but when she discovers his fake wedding ring, he makes up a story about going through a divorce. When Palmer asks to meet the wife he is divorcing, Danny talks his office manager Katherine (Jennifer Aniston) into posing as the wife. The lies accelerate and culminate in a trip to Hawaii where Danny makes a last ditch effort to win the love of Palmer.
