He befriends NYC tabloid photographer Les Galantine (Steve Buscemi) who teams up with him, offers a job as his assistant, and introduces him to casting agent Dana (Gina Gershon). Dana helps Toby with his acting career, and Toby meets pop star K'Harma Leeds (Alison Lohman) at a press event. Toby and K'Harma get together, and now, with his connections, Toby is on the verge of gaining celebrity status, but that leaves Les back in the shadows.
