To ensure memories of the event, his friend Hud (T.J. Miller) is handed a mini-camcorder. The party is in full swing when, suddenly, something explodes in the night air, and the lights go out. The partygoers run down to the street where the air is filled with smoke. They spot the Statue of Liberty's head smashed in the street and a giant monster stomping through Manhattan. Now, Rob gets a call from his girlfriend Beth (Odette Yustman) telling him that she is trapped in a building. Rob and Hud are joined by Jason (Mike Vogel), Lily (Jessica Lucas), and Marlena (Lizzy Caplan), and they head off into the chaos to save Beth.
