In the meantime, Clay marries Sam (Jessica Alba) who is his mother Lilith's (Lena Olin) assistant and the last person in the world Lilith wants her son to marry. The same night that Clay and Sam marry, he is told there is a heart for him, Dr. Larry Lupin (Christopher McDonald) administers the anesthesia, and the operation begins. But, the anesthesia is not working correctly, Clay can feel everything, and he learns that the doctors are going to kill him and take his money. Horror sets in for Clay in the operating room, while his new wife Sam struggles with her own decisions in the waiting room.
