But Patrick has met and befriended elderly blues musician Houston Jones (Bill Cobbs) who was once a jockey and horse trainer and now dreams of entering a horse in the State Cup Steeplechase Race. Patrick becomes Houston's right-hand man and convinces his parents to let him compete as a jockey in the Steeplechase and reach for his own dream.
