Meanwhile, land developer Davidson (Steve Carlisle) is attempting to buy out area farms on the news that a dam may be built in the area. But all that is forgotten after a meteor lands on the farm. The meteor oozes a slimy liquid that enters the water supply, and the affect on people, animals, and plants is a catastrophe, and mutants abound. Zac (Wil Wheaton), Nathan's stepson, avoids the contamination and sets out to bring help. A weak effort all around.
