It is 1978, soccer is a Shue-family affair, and Gracie is carrying on the family tradition. She petitions the local school board to allow feminine players on its teams, trains diligently, and takes over her brother's vacated place on the boys' soccer team—not an easy accomplishment in the 1970s.
