Attempting to cash in on the real-life marriage of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, the studio put them in this film together. The plot involves the aftermath of Polly Parrish's (Debbie Reynolds) actions when she picks up a baby left at a front door. Everyone believes that she is the real mother. Her ex-boss (Adolphe Menjou) becomes involved and tries to make Polly an "honorable woman" through marriage to his son, Dan (Eddie Fisher).
