Jones (Barry Sullivan) writes a letter to the district attorney telling about his wife Ellen's (Loretta Young) supposed plans to murder him. After Ellen mails the letter, George tells her what it contained, and in the heat of the moment George drops dead. Now, Ellen must find a way to get the incriminating letter before it arrives at the D.A.'s office.
