McKay, Faye Dunaway, Ellen Blake   After waking up in a hospital bed, Frank Kavanaugh (Val Kilmer) suffers from amnesia caused by a gunshot wound. He experiences flashbacks and is convinced that there is a plot to assassinate the President of the United States. Kavanaugh tries to convince local Sheriff Jack Kolb (Sam Shepard) that there could be trouble when the President passes through town later that day. But the sheriff has election plans to deal with and doesn't react as Kavanaugh feels is necessary to prevent disaster.
