He then sends a copy of the videotape to the next victim. Young and inexperienced local TV reporter Jessie (Rachael Leigh Cook) hopes to make a name for herself by solving the crimes but has competition from Albert (Cary Elwes), the nationally syndicated TV host of "American Crime." Tensions rise when Jessie receives a videotape and then disappears.
