They meet a Holocaust survivor (Massimo Girotti) and bring him home where they learn of his sacrifices during World War II. Meanwhile, Giovanna is considering her own sacrifice: a forbidden love for next-door neighbor Lorenzo (Raoul Bova) on whom she spends her time spying. Once the two stories are told, past and present interact in this interesting story from Italian director Ferzan Ozpetek.
