The Ordeal of Dr. Mudd   1980         TV, 143 min. Mudd (Dennis Weaver) where the doctor set his broken leg. As a result, Mudd was falsely accused and sentenced to life in a penal colony for being part of a conspiracy to kill the President. His wife, Frances (Susan Sullivan), maintained his innocence, but it would be many years before President Andrew Jackson pardoned him.
