So, he sets out on a cross-country journey to trace ownerships of the gun that killed Penny and, in the process, find the killer. This is James Coburn's last film.    1 User Review User Review BARBARA - unassuming and Wonderful MonFogendau_Brasil 08/03/2007    Barbara Bain is, as always, brilliant, playing the part of "the mother/wife" (Anne)... unassuming but, as usual, filling the screen with her indisputable talent and grace. "American Gun", probably Barbara`s and Jimmy Coburn`s best movie (IMHO) , is surprising and touching - A MUST-SEE!!. BB, of course, rules!! (I`m kinda of her biggest fan!)
