When his landlord hires him to frighten evicted tenants into leaving, Pedro accidentally kills the leader of the tenants who are fighting to stay. Meanwhile, he has been having an affair with the landlord's wife (Katy Jurado). When Pedro is injured during a fight, he is nursed back to health by a young woman who, unknown to her, is the daughter of the man he killed.
