Sisters Tilden and Elizabeth (Alison Pill and Tamara Hope) live with their single mother (Elizabeth Perkins). The girls' lives change drastically when Mama announces that she is going to marry a man, Nick (Scott Bakula), whom they had not met. This doesn't go over well with the girls, especially Tilden, but that becomes less important when Mama finds out she has cancer.
