Jimmy Zoole (Guttenberg) has experienced a disastrous year; it is New Year's Eve and Jimmy's girlfriend has dumped him, the novel he is writing was stolen, his play closed after one night, and his cat has died. Now, to top off all the rest, he finds a burglar—gay comic Eddie (Lombardo Boyar)—hiding under his bed. Jimmy ties up Eddie, and they begin talking. By night's end, the two have bonded.
