They fall in love instantly and make plans to marry. When Roy leaves for the battlefront, Myra misses a dance recital in order to bid him farewell and loses her job. Soon, the newspaper reports that Roy has been killed, and Myra turns to prostitution to support herself. Roy wasn't killed, but when he returns to Myra a tragic end to their romance lies ahead.
