Pee-Wee makes friends with the circus owner Mace Montana (Kris Kristofferson) and allows the circus to stay for awhile. He tries to get the attention of gorgeous trapeze artist Gina (Valeria Golino) by joining the circus as an acrobat. Good idea, but Pee-Wee's fiancee Winnie (Penelope Ann Miller) has other ideas about what Pee-Wee should do with his life. When the circus faces bankruptcy, Pee-Wee comes up with the idea, and they stage a three-ring spectacular—starring Pee-Wee.
