While waiting for the decree, the couple win a $450,000 jackpot—at the same moment the casino is being robbed. While the police believe the couple was there as a diversion from the robbery, Mercer sets out to prove his innocence by investigating the casino owner (Dennis Hopper) and his partner (Joe Pantoliano).
