Smith, Ed O'Ross, George Griffith   Max and Jamie (Vincent D'Onofrio and Valeria Golino) are cheap con artists and antique dealers. Along comes Jack (Matthew Lillard) with a scheme to steal cash and a valuable pair of pistols (the "Spanish Judges"). Motivations become suspect as a plan is developed that ultimately fails.
