Thus sets the scene for the first in a long line of "Columbo" films. Our slow-moving, unkempt hero (Peter Falk) is always underestimated when he seeks the murderer and this film is no exception. A good start to the series with a great cast and several sub-plots. The series was taken from a Broadway play starring Thomas Mitchell.
