  Tom Reilly (Zach Braff) is a chef in Manhattan who fights with his boss (Paul Rudd) and is fired. Needing money, Tom moves with his pregnant wife Sofia (Amanda Peet) to her hometown where his father-in-law (Charles Grodin) gives him a job at his advertising agency. Tom's new manager is a wheelchair-bound paraplegic, Chip (Jason Bateman), who just happens to be Sofia's high-school boyfriend. To make matters worse, Tom is sure that Chip is scheming to get Sofia back. In an effort to clear the air, Tom sets out to prove that Chip's disability is not for real, and many problems rise to the fore in the process.
