Playboy Dax Xenos (Bekim Fehmiu) suffered the trauma of watching his mother murdered when he was a child, and his lifestyle reflects his problems. He woos wealthy widow Deborah Hadley (Olivia de Havilland) and then dumps her when she runs out of money. Dax then woos wealthy Sue Ann Daley (Candice Bergen), and she bears his child. When the child is killed in an accident, Sue Ann dumps Dax.
