Religious fanatic Nathan (Claude Akins) keeps his family in line on his Tennessee farm. The meteor oozes a slimy liquid that enters the water supply, and the affect on people, animals, and plants is a catastrophe, and mutants abound. Zac (Wil Wheaton), Nathan's stepson, avoids the contamination and sets out to bring help. A weak effort all around.
