Coming Home 1978 R, 127 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Hal Ashby Cast: Jon Voight, Jane Fonda, Bruce Dern, Penelope Milford, Robert Carradine, Robert Ginty, Mary Gregory, Kathleen Miller, Beeson Carroll, Charles Cyphers, Willie Tyler, Louis Carello, Olivia Cole, Bruce French, Tresa Hughes
This film does a good, though biased, job of relating people's emotions over the Vietnam War. It tells the story of U.S. Marine Corps Captain Bob Hyde (Bruce Dern) and his wife Sally's (Jane Fonda) affair with paraplegic war veteran Luke Martin (John Voight). Jane Fonda and Jon Voight won Academy Awards for Best Actress and Actor. An Oscar was also awarded for Best Screenplay, and five nominations were received, including Best Picture, Director, Supporting Actor (Dern) and Actress (Penelope Milford as Sally's troubled friend Vi). 1 User Review
