When Sally Hardesty (Marilyn Burns) takes her wheelchair-bound brother Franklin (Paul A. Partain) to their grandfather's cemetery after learning that it has been vandalized, Sally's friends join them. Not a good idea. One-by-one, they are hacked to death by a vicious family of cannibals, including Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen) who wields a chainsaw when confronting his victims. This film quickly had a cult following and spawned sequels.
