Old John (Harry Davenport) lives in a hollow redwood tree deep in the forest and even talks to animals. He also has a running battle with loggers who are cutting down trees. Along comes a lost boy (William Severn) who learns about nature from Old John, and the boy's mother learns even more, as does a doctor (who also lives in the forest). OK family entertainment with an environmental point of view.
