In this sequel, Rambo's (Sylvester Stallone) former superior officer Col. Samuel Trautman (Richard Crenna) is authorized to release Rambo from prison and send him on a journey to Vietnam searching for POWs. Rambo teams up with Vietnamese freedom fighter Co Bao (Julia Nickson-Soul), and he falls in love with her. After Co Bao is killed by Captain Vinh (William Ghent), Rambo goes on a killing spree, and the action accelerates.
