Kharis is determined to find her, and he wreaks havoc in Louisiana as he kills anyone who stands in his way. Will Halsey be the one to finally put the mummies away for good? Problems rise to the fore when the gold commissioner, Alexander McNamara (Randolph Scott), conspires to take over the rights to the mines in the area. A legal fight appears to be impossible, and the result is a bar-room brawl in which Glennister and McNamara fight for the rights to the mine.

Gribb's goal is to win the affections of Edward's long-suffering wife, Mary (Anita Louise), but along comes the real hero, Frederick (Hugh Herbert), who foils Cribbs' plan. Despite the presence of Buster Keaton (who has some good lines), the joke is on the audience.
