Edgar Allen Poe, what have they done to your stories? Parts of some of his stories, "updated," were used in this tale of a young woman who goes to Ravenscroft Institute to teach. The Institute is presumably for troubled girls, but as they start disappearing, our heroine seeks to find out what is going on in this creepy place with its creepy staff. The 1/2 star isn't deserved, but is in honor of John Carradine in his final film.

A couple are diverted to a back road as they travel in Texas, and the next thing you know they are being pursued by a mask-wearing, chainsaw-wielding cannibal who seeks food for his family. Major cuts to keep the film down to an "R" rating helped make this sequel a real loser.

Watchers III 1994 R, 80 min. Genre: Horror / Thriller / Sci-Fi
Director: Jeremy Stanford Cast: Wings Hauser, Gregory Scott Cummins, Daryl Keith Roach, John Linton, Lolita Ronalds, Ider Cifuentes Martin, Frank Novak, Matt Singer, Carlos Gonzales, Christian Meier, William Butler
Based on Dean R. Koontz's story, this third "Watchers" is about a government-ordered mission that involves ex-convicts tracking down the monster in the jungles of Central America, with the help, of course, of their smart dog. Koontz sued over the use of his name, since the story itself had nothing to do with his novel.
