Gravelle (Boris Karloff) was an opera star who, suffering from amnesia following a fire, has spent his last seven years in an asylum. When Gravelle sees a picture of his unfaithful, opera singer wife Lucretia (Nedda Harrigan) in a newspaper story, his memory returns, and he heads to the opera house to seek revenge. Murders ensue, and Chan investigates.
