Chan, his son Tommy (Victor Sen Yung), and chauffeur Birmingham (Mantan Moreland) pose as tourists, and the investigation begins. Clues lead to mine operator Driscoll (Ralph Dunn) who is smuggling gold from Mexico and passing it off as coming from the mine. But solving this case will prove difficult–and dangerous.

So, of course, he injects Anthony with his acromegaly-inducing drug thinking that, when he cures Anthony, Patricia will love him, AND he may be able to extort money from the victim. But, alas, life isn't that simple.

Carson (Karl Hackett), is not pleased because he had encouraged the attack so that he could scare the settlers and take the land for himself. Meanwhile, Tex has fallen in love with settler Suzannah (Wanda McKay) whose father was killed in the raid. A series of misadventures follow, after which Carson is caught, and Suzannah joins Tex on a new wagon train and continues with her plans to settle in the West. Loosely based on James Fenimore Cooper's "The Leatherstocking Tales."
